SUDAN: The Goddess
Flowers

SUDAN...in ancient times they called it NUBIA, they called it CUSH.  This is the land of the Blue Blacks.  And on this page...we celebrate three beautiful African daughters (goddess flowers) who have emerged from Sudan.  From the South (CUSH) Supermodel ALEK WEK and former "slave" turned Canonized Saint, our greatly divine mother, the African, Saint Josephine Bakhita.  And from the North (Nubia) literary writer KOLA BOOF.  Please click on each photo for a harvest of information!

The Pride of Cush! Novelist Kola Boof

ALEK WEK...the tall, dark beauty representing Africa's eternal black perfection.  This is what the true Nubian and Cushite queens looked like! Sudan's controversial novelist KOLA BOOF was born "Naima Bint Harith" in Omdurman to an Arab Egyptian father and "blue black" Oromo mother.  Her parents were executed for speaking out against the enslavement of Blacks by Arabs when Naima was very young.  As the writer Kola Boof, she  remains bitter towards Arabs and has rejected ISLAM.

Kola Boof's autobiography "Diary of a Lost Girl" details her turbulent life and includes more than 90 pages about her 1996 affair with Osama Bin Laden, which she insists was against her will..

Long Train to the Redeeming Sin

Representing the eternal dark beauty of Sudan's Nubian and Cushite races--ALEK WEK and Kola Boof are true symbols of black humanity and authentic African beauty.
With her powerful novel "Flesh and the Devil" and the firebombed story collection "Long Train to the Redeeming Sin", Kola Boof has become Africa's most controversial female author, constantly receiving death threats.

 SAINT JOSEPHINE BAKHITA

Born in Darfur (Olgossa) SUDAN..Josephine was sold by Arabs into slavery at 9 and purchased by Italians in Khartoum.  She was taken to Italy, and after much hardship, became a Nun.  In 1978, she was Canonized by the Catholic church as a "Saint".  Even today in Italy, she is called "Mother Moretta" (Our Black Mother).  She died a SAINT...with 114 slits cut into the flesh of her body.  *As usual, the Italian photo above has been "lightened".  Click photo to read more about Africa's great Sainted Mother.
